New Arrival: Tournament Players Club Chipco Poker Chips

UPDATE: We are currently running an ebay auction for a 500 chip set – 1 cent starting bid and no reserve! See it here: Chipco Tournament Players Club 500 Poker Chip Set

Are you looking for a unique set of poker chips? We have come across these truly unique poker chips, and are glad to be able to make them available to you! These custom poker chips were produced by Chipco International, a company that is well known for their casino poker chips. You can see the distinctive “CI” branding on the top center of the artwork. These “Tournament Players Club” poker chips were custom made for a private company, and the chips never ended up being used. They are in mint condition, just like new poker chips.

Chipco Tournament Players Club $5 Chips

These customized poker chips feature one of a kind graphics. Most chips have the same artwork on front and back. This artwork includes the text “Tournament Players Club” on the top of the chip, and the denomination written out at the bottom. In the center of the chip is an interesting group of characters sitting at a table playing poker. We have from left to right, an angry cartoon dog, a court jester, a hammerhead shark, a guy who reminds me of Inspector Gadget, and an old west cowboy. What an eclectic group! The center of the chip also includes the denomination in number form. The chips are available in $5, $25, $100, $500, and $1000 denominations.

Chipco Tournament Players Club $25 Poker Chips

There are a limited number of chips that have special artwork on the back of the chips. These have the text “Don’t Get Caught…” at the top, and “Drawing Dead!” at the bottom. The image has the hammerhead shark as the only character left, and the chairs of all the other characters have been eaten in half. I guess we know that the hammerhead is a card shark!

Limited Edition $100 Poker Chip Back

A very limited number of chip sets will be available in the near future…details are coming soon, and will be added to this page. Sample sets are now available for purchase. These sample sets are a great way to see the quality of these chips, and are a great addition to any poker chip collection! These poker chips were not made for a casino, however they are listed in our “Actual Casino Chips” section of the store as they were made by Chipco.

It’s always a good time when it’s poker night, but maybe you’re looking for a way to change it up and bring a new spark to your game. One way to do this is to introduce specialty chips to your poker games and tournaments. There are several different types of specialty chips such as Bounty Chips, Show’em Chips, and others…you may even want to try them all!

Bounty Chips

Bounty Chips from the Nevada Jacks Skulls Set

At the beginning of the poker tournament, each player receives one Bounty poker chip. When each player is knocked out of the tournament, they surrender their Bounty Chip to the person who eliminated them. The goal is to collect as many Bounty Chips as possible! At the end of the night, the Bounty Chips are then turned in for a prize. The prize can be cash, a poker trophy, or other awards. Or, you may decide to pay out a set amount per Bounty Chip, so that players who don’t end the night “In the Money” might not go home completely empty handed. If using this method, the value of the Bounty Chips should be determined at the beginning of the night (for example $1 to $5 per chip) and make sure to add this to the entry fee.

Show’em Poker Chips

Poker is not just about the cards in your hand, it is about guessing how your cards compare to the opponent’s cards. You just folded, and it’s driving you crazy wondering if you did the right thing. Just once you wish you could see what the opponent had in their hands! If you were using Show Em poker chips, you could find out! The idea behind Show Em Chips is that each player receives one (or more) Show Em chips, which they are free to use at any point during the game. When the chip is used, their opponent must show their cards (after the hand is over of course!). You could also “sell” the Show Em chips to players who really want to use them, and sweeten the pot for everyone!

Rebuy and Reload Chips

Rebuy and Reload poker chips are typically used interchangeably, so just choose which theme works best with your group. The idea behind Rebuy and Reload chips is that at the start of the poker tournament, each player receives a Rebuy chip. If a player is eliminated from the tournament and chooses to rebuy, they must turn in their Rebuy chip. The players who still have their Rebuy chip at the end of the night can get a prize such as a portion of the rebuy payments from the prize fund, a drink, food, etc. Rebuy chips are another way to add some fun to your tournaments!

Rabbit Hunting Poker Chips

The poker definition of Rabbit Hunting is: to see the undealt cards after a hand is finished in order to see who would have won if the hand hadn’t been folded. The idea behind Rabbit Hunting chips is that at the beginning of the night, each player receives one (or more) chips. At any point during the game, they can turn in the chip to “Rabbit Hunt” and see what cards would have come next. You could also “sell” these chips to players who really want to use them, and sweeten the pot for everyone!

As you can see, there are many ways to spice up your poker games with specialty chips. We would love to hear how you incorporate these chips into your poker nights and tournaments!

Nevada Jacks is now under new ownership! It is with great excitement that we can now announce that Nevada Jacks has been acquired by ABC Gifts and Awards.

After starting as personalized gifts and awards business in 2004, ABC quickly began to focus on the poker industry. Through time, custom poker chips became our biggest product, and we have become known in poker chip circles for our highest quality printing amongst ceramic poker chip manufacturers. Unfortunately, our business name never moved forward, and we have struggled to gain wider market name recognition because of this. The merger of Nevada Jacks and ABC Gifts and Awards brings together two of the largest customized poker chip manufacturers in the United States.

We look forward to bringing many new products to the CustomizedPokerChips.com website. Be on the lookout for new poker chip sets, new personalized poker chip designs, specialty poker chips, poker clothing, and much more.

We will soon be releasing a new line of Nevada Jacks chips – the Saloon Series. We have shared the test chips with some poker chip fans, and this new set has received rave reviews!

A huge selection of poker trophies will continue to be featured on the ABC site. Your poker tournament is not complete without awards that the winners can take home. Playing for money is nice, but the glory of winning the trophy is unmatched! We feature a wide variety of awards suitable for any size poker game or tournament, and each trophy includes a free personalized nameplate.

We look forward to serving you for any and all of your poker supplies! If there is something you are looking for but don’t see, please let us know and we will see if we can get it for you!

Nevada Jacks, the premiere source for Nevada Jacks Skull poker chips, customized poker chips, and clay poker chips, has rebranded and relaunched under CustomizedPokerChips.com.

The new domain name says it all, as Nevada Jacks offers personalized, fully customizable poker chips, and the best part is that they are casino grade. From small home games with friends to large-scale multi-table tournaments, Nevada Jacks can tailor poker chips for every occasion.

Nevada Jacks President Jim Evering heralded the move to CustomizedPokerChips.com: “We are very excited to really focus on a portion of the business that we are very good at. While Nevada Jacks is still our feature product, we will focus more on customized poker chips in the future.”

The customized poker chips are handcrafted in the United States. The logos and text that appear on them are professional in nature, as no stickers or other gimmicks are used. Instead, the U.S.-based company uses a sophisticated technique to embed images in each chip. The result is a customized poker chip that is identical to what players would see in brick-and-mortar casinos.

Several factors separate Nevada Jacks from the competition. Evering explained, “We are the manufacturer and not a reseller of the product. Nevada Jacks has a decade of experience and, in fact, we were in business prior to the poker boom. Casino grade poker chips are all we do and we do it well, which leads to incredible one- to two-week lead times for custom poker chips.”

Pre-designed chips are also available, on top of which customers can print their name, company name, or tournament. The designs include Martini Club, Las Vegas Sign, Card Suits, and Four Jacks. A 500-piece chipset, which contains enough chips to run a home game, are available for $399.99 and can ship within one to two weeks. Each chipset comes complete with a durable carrying case, playing cards, and a dealer button. Shipping is completely free.

Nevada Jacks also sells its eponymous design, which is one of the most popular brands available around the globe. The Nevada Jacks Skull line features the highest quality composite casino poker chips available for home games. Each chip weighs in at 10 grams and 500-piece sets run between $219.99 and $299.99.

In addition, CustomizedPokerChips.com offers real casino chips – chips that were actually used in some of the most storied casinos around the world. These are perfect for any collector of high-end poker chips and the stock constantly changes. CustomizedPokerChips.com even showcases plaques, card guards, and basic home game supplies.

No home game is complete without a visit to CustomizedPokerChips.com.

For years, tournaments have ruled most home poker games. It only makes sense that having the right set of tournament poker chips is essential to running an efficient home poker tournament. Tournament poker chips are just half of the equation though. You must also have the correct tournament structure to compliment you tournament poker chips. When running a tournament you need to consider the number of players, blind structure, blind times, and your inventory of tournament poker chips among other factors. With so many variables to consider it is easy to see why many poker tournaments not running efficiently.

When you come to a retailer like Nevada Jacks, it can be a bit overwhelming. After all, we offer a variety of products to spice up your home poker game in the blink of an eye. We recognize that not everyone is as versed on the world of poker chips as we are. Therefore, we created a list of the most common questions we get from users to help you decide what tournament poker chips will give you the best bang for your buck and suit your needs at the same time.

Question: What are tournament poker chips?

Answer: Tournament poker chips provide a way for you to host your very own home game. Tournament chips are brightly colored and can take on a variety of values, allowing you to customize your game in any way you can think of. Tournament poker chips aren’t just for tournaments, either; you can adapt them to your very own ring game as well. Play $0.05/$0.10 Limit or $25/$50 No Limit – you choose!

Question: Why wouldn’t I go buy these chips at Wal-Mart?

Answer: Because our tournament poker chips will give you true professional quality at your fingertips. The $5 chipset at Wal-Mart is made of flimsy plastic, whereas Nevada Jacks’ poker chips are made from the very same materials that you’ll find in your local casino’s chips. Plus, ours are more durable. You can literally stick them in the dishwasher to get rid of the BBQ sauce your friends left on them.

If that weren’t enough, we actually offer real casino chips right here at Nevada Jacks. These were actually produced for brick-and-mortar casinos, allowing you the rare opportunity to own the real thing. Can you find that at Target? We didn’t think so.

Question: What else will I need in order to create my own poker home game?

Answer: You’ve come to the right place. Check out our Home Poker Game resources to get caught up to speed on what you’ll need to host your own tournament or cash game. We have everything to make your game a winner, including dealer buttons and timers, playing cards, cut cards, cup holders, chip trays, and chip cases. Not all of these are required to invite your buddies over for some drinks. However, the more of them you have, the more professional your game will feel.

Question: Everyone has finally shown up for my game. Now what?

Answer: Let the fun begin! First, you’ll need to give each player a stack of poker chips; how many you give them is entirely up to you. Check out our Guide to Home Poker Tournaments to determine how many chips to give each player. The amount you’ll give and the blind structure you’ll use depend on how fast you want your game to go. For a fast game, give fewer chips and accelerate the blind structure. For a slow game, start each player off with ample poker chips and increase the blinds more gradually. For cash games, each player should start with about 100 big blinds. For tournaments, 200 big blinds is a common starting amount.

Question: Can I really get my own custom poker chips from Nevada Jacks?

Answer: Absolutely. There’s no reason your home poker game can’t be played with chips that have your face slapped across the center of them. Custom poker chips make excellent gifts, so don’t forget them when birthdays and the holiday season come around. We don’t just put a sticker on the middle of your custom poker chipset, either. If you don’t believe us, just ask our clients, which include NASCAR, T-Mobile, Bodog, and many of the world’s top online poker sites. All of them use our customizable poker chips.

Question: Does it take a long time for me to receive my chips?

Answer: No way! We offer free UPS Ground shipping on all poker chipsets and they’ll arrive at your front door within a couple of weeks. Sure, it takes a little bit longer than driving to K-Mart to buy a $10 set. However, it’s well worth it.

It’s time to hold a poker home game! Unfortunately, this sounds considerably simpler than it is. Before any cards can hit the air in your home game, you’ll need a location, guest list, and supplies, which can take quite a bit of time – and money – to procure. Luckily, we here at Nevada Jacks have you covered.

Decide on a Location

Location is the number one determinant of the size of your home game. If your living room is the only space available, then a maximum of seven or eight people will be able to take to the felts. If you can use your garage, then multiple tables may be employed. If a hotel ballroom is being rented, then the sky’s the limit.

It’s important to decide on a location before you think about any other factors. How many tables do you need? How many poker chips will be used? What time will your “Shuffle up and deal” command be issued? None of these can be determined until you figure out a place to hold your poker home game.

Set a Time

Timing is everything in poker. This five-word fact is even truer in home games, which can live and die based on what time they start and end. Remember that most people, especially in the United States, work a desk job from 8:00am to 5:00pm. If your home game starts at 8:00pm, for example, your entrants may not make it home until Midnight and then have to turn around and go to work the next day.

Similarly, if your game starts at 5:30pm, many of your guests might still be at work and unable to make it. We recommend weekend games since many of the time constraints you’d typically encounter are moot when players don’t have to work the next day. If you have a tournament during the week, then a 6:30pm to 7:00pm start time is appropriate.

It’s important to stick to your predetermined kickoff time, as players have planned their nights accordingly. If any of your guests have children, they’ll need to tell the babysitter or whoever is watching the youngsters when they’ll be home. If any players work on the weekends, then you’ll need to take this into consideration as well.

Invite Guests

Once you know the limitations of the space you’re using, you can begin the process of inviting guests. We encourage you to stick to a core group of friends. In some locations, the legal acceptance of poker home games is gray at best. The more people you invite – and especially the fewer of them you know – the more likely it is that the game will land you in hot water.

Say that you live in an apartment complex and are inviting 20 players over. Then, noise issues and parking limitations will come into play. The last thing you want is your night ending with the police showing up asking you to be quiet only to discover that you have a home game going on.

Determine Tournament Rules

The Tournament Directors Association (TDA) is an excellent resource for creating rules for your poker home game. Topics the organization addresses on its website include language at the table, breaking tables, seating assignments, player declarations, showdowns, side pots, chip races, calling the clock, dealing errors, string bets, unprotected hands, and ethical play.

The TDA isn’t a fish out of water, either. The organization has been around since 2001 after being founded by Linda Johnson, David Lamb, Jan Fisher, and the World Poker Tour’s Matt Savage.

Posting your rules isn’t a must, but the TDA has a handout version of theirs that you might find helpful. We’d suggest posting any house rules you have that are out of the ordinary so all players are completely versed on them.

Determine Tournament Structure

Once your field is set, you’ll need to determine the number of custom poker chips to use, payouts, and the blind structure. Check out our Guide to Home Poker Tournaments for full details.

We’ve already covered the do’s when you’re stacking chips at a live poker table in your favorite casino or regular home game. Now, it’s time for the other end of the spectrum. What should you avoid like the Plague when you’re seated? Read on to find out.

Don’t Be the Next Frank Lloyd Wright

I know it’s tempting, but don’t create complex structures with your poker chips. We’ve all seen this before. I’ve witnessed players create bridges, intricate towers, and even a stack of chips three feet high. Face it, we’re poker players and like to flex our creative muscles. However, when you build a leaning tower of green chips, you’re telling your opponents that you’re disinterested in the game. Why would you sit down at a ring game or cough up the cash to enter a tournament if all you’re going to do is focus on being an architect? You can do that at home.

Instead of building a pirate ship complete with working cannons out of $1 chips, use your energy to focus on your opponents. Are they giving off any live tells? What about betting patterns? What do you have to do in order to rise to the top of the pack and succeed? Pay attention to your opponents – not your chips – and you’ll be on your way to victory.

Don’t Make Yourself at Home

We’ve explained that you should always stack your chips at the table. A big no-no is having your hard-earned collection strewn about in front of you. Don’t make it look like a tornado ripped through your section of the table and spread out your chips. Stack them neatly and remember to make the high-value chips visible.

Moreover, arrange your stacks as close together as possible. Organize them in a triangle or square in order to take up as little room as possible. Remember, you have eight or nine neighbors and all of you have to squeeze in around a little table. Be professional and give off the vibe that you know what you’re doing by arranging your chips neatly. You’ll be given a lot more credibility as a result, which could bode well for your table image.

Don’t Mix and Match

When buying used golf balls, you can mix and match to your heart’s content. Not so at the poker table. Always stack chips of equal value together. Do not, under any circumstances, mix up your chips.

There are several reasons why you wouldn’t want to mix and match your chips. First, with 10 or 20 chips in a stack, it’ll be nearly impossible for you or your opponents to discern its value. Therefore, you’ll be in the dark about calling an all-in, pushing all-in, and pot committing yourself. More importantly, no one else at the table will have any idea where you stand, making the game quite confusing for those around you.

In addition, if you’re playing at a cash game, mixing and matching can lead to a false sense of where you stand in terms of real money. You may walk up to the cage expecting to cash out $1,000 (a rack of reds), but in actuality your messiness caused that number to be just $865. It’s entirely possible. Avoid unnecessary headaches by stacking like chips together.

Don’t Make Change with Strangers

If you need to make change, always barter with the dealer. This situation will come up quite often in tournaments when calling raises and in cash games when making bets that require multiple chips. If your action requires change, announce “call” or “raise to” and toss your chips into the middle. Leave it to the dealer to make change for you.

Don’t make change with your tablemates. This can lead to a lot of confusion, especially since everyone at the table has an interest in ripping off everyone else. A dealer is truly neutral at the poker table. Remember, stranger danger!

Don’t Buy Anyone Else’s Poker Chips!

Always buy Nevada Jacks. Your home game will thank you.

If you’re heading to a major tournament or even your local home game, there are several chip guidelines that you should be wary of. What are they, you ask? What are some common “do’s” for chip etiquette at the tables? Read on to find out.

Do Stack ‘em, Stack ‘em to the Top!

I’ll borrow a phrase from Tom Schneider’s wife during the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Always arrange your chips in stacks at the table. Stacks of 10 or 20 chips are common, with the latter typically being the standard in a live casino cash game.

There are several reasons why you’d want to have your chips stacked besides just being courteous to your fellow players. First, stacking your chips allows you and your opponents to see what you hold with ease. All they have to do is multiply the number of stacks by the number of chips in each one to come up with your stack size. This assumes you stack like chips together, which you should also be doing at all times. Similarly, it’s painfully easy for you to be able to glance down, count up the number of piles, and determine your stack size in just a few seconds.

Second, stacking your chips affords room at the table for placing bets, stashing your Coors Light bottle, and looking at your cards. Without chips strewn everywhere in a chaotic mess, the table space can be used to the fullest extent possible. Besides, if you’re “that guy” at the table with his chips spread around like coals on a fire, you’re not going to have any respect paid to you.

Do Push Your Bets Forward

Feel free to use the area directly in front of your chip stack to count out a bet, call, or raise. However, when you finally decide to commit your chips, push them out in front of you towards the middle of the table by moving your bet out about six inches. Some tables have an inner ring to push your chips across when you’re ready to act. If you have any questions about what constitutes action, ask your dealer.

I’m reminded of a situation involving Annie Duke during her 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championship run. Duke counted her chips about three inches from her stack. The dealer, not realizing that Duke wasn’t ready to act, began counting down her chips for her opponent to see. This caused an unnecessary headache and could have been avoided by Duke pushing her bet out on every street.

Do Know When to Show ‘em

Always keep your high-dollar chips visible. One of the biggest errors players make at the tables involving their chips is hiding their highest value chips. Instead of keeping the green $25 chips where everyone at the table can see them, they keep them close for fear of thievery. Showing your high-dollar value chips to the rest of the table allows your opponents to gauge whether they want to tangle with you in a pot. Accordingly, if you’re the big stack at the table, prominently displaying your high-value chips can work to your advantage.

If you have cash or plaques on the table, make sure these are situated adjacent to your chip stack. Since bundles of cash can be worth more than your entire stack of chips combined, it’s critical to keep these in plain sight. If any theft were to occur, they’d be clearly visible to the “eye in the sky,” helping you determine the bandit quickly.

Do Rack Your Chips

When you move tables in a poker tournament or cash game, remember to rack your chips. Not only will this allow you to determine your exact chip count, but you’ll also eliminate any unnecessary spills that can come from holding chips in your hands. Simply ask your dealer for a plastic chip tray and you’ll be well on your way to a smooth table change or trip to the cage.

Do Purchase Nevada Jacks Chips!

You didn’t think we’d pass up the opportunity to plug our own high-quality, casino-grade, customized poker chips, did you?

Four Tips for Hosting Multi-Table Poker Tournaments

Hosting a multi-table poker tournament is no easy feat. With players, chips, and money constantly shuffling around, it’s easy to become confused. Luckily, you’ve come to Nevada Jacks, where we have all of the supplies you need to run a successful multi-table tournament and several helpful tips to get you started off on the right foot.

Use Custom Poker Chips

If your budget allows, purchase custom poker chips, especially if you aren’t familiar with the players in your game. Let’s face it: the poker chips you’re using will likely be white, red, green, blue, and black. How hard would it be for someone you don’t know entering your massive multi-table tournament to sneak a few extra chips into his stack? Answer: Not hard at all. Accordingly, purchase custom poker chips from Nevada Jacks, which alleviates this problem entirely.

Not only will your chips stand out because they are casino-grade, but also because they’ll say something obvious like “Jim’s Card Emporium” on the front. When you notice a player toss out a plain chip, it’s time to start asking questions. If nothing else, make the most valuable chips in play custom-made. That way, you’ll know your game is legit and can make it as large as you want.

Custom chips for poker home games aren’t as expensive as you might think, especially if you plan to use them quite a few times. We can sell you a 500-piece custom poker chipset for less than $400. Remember, these are durable, casino-grade chips that you’ll be able to pass down to your children.

Tournament Clocks are a Must

You cannot operate an efficient multi-table tournament without a tournament timer. Moreover, you’ll need exactly one timer for the entire room. Don’t let players individually keep time on their watches or purchase clocks for each table. Instead, use a laptop and a piece of free software like The Poker Timer to log the blinds and time remaining in each level. Perch your computer somewhere where everyone can see it and issue your “Shuffle up and deal” command. Some programs, like the Home Game Poker Clock, are web-based, which means you don’t even have to download any software.

Whoever the tournament’s host is should handle all aspects of the event, from passing out your custom poker chips to hitting the start and stop buttons on the timer. If a person isn’t playing, but attending the game and knows the basics of poker, then he or she may be a prime candidate to manage the game for you while you play. It all depends on who attends and their level of poker know-how.

Information is Power

Displaying as much information as possible during a multi-table tournament is critical. With players of varying skill levels gathered under one roof, it’s a smart idea to buy a big dry erase board and write the following information so everyone can see:

Current blind level
Next blind level
Poker chip values
Payouts and number of places paid
Game-specific rules
Number of players remaining
Total prize pool
Buy-in and rebuy amounts

Now that everyone is on the same page, your poker home game is likely to run quite smoothly. Although many tournament clocks display the above information, make sure to post it where everyone can see it, even from afar.

Follow the Rules

Review the basic rules of your game with everyone before you begin. If rebuys are only allowed during the first hour, say so. If you’ll be coloring up the white chips after the second break, go over that as well. If you want to tell your friends that you bought your custom poker chipset at Nevada Jacks, do that as well. Just lay out all of the groundwork for a successful game ahead of time. Your sanity will thank you.
