Just because you have a high quality chipset from Nevada Jacks doesn’t mean you’re ready to hold a credible home game. In fact, there are several supplies and extras you can purchase right here on our website to make your game one for the ages. From dealer buttons to sturdy cases to cut cards, we have everything you need to make your home game rival any live tournament.

Dealer Buttons and Tournament Timers

If you’re going to have a real home game, you need a white or silver disc that says “DEALER” on it to use as the button. We’ve played in home games where everything from a quarter to a cell phone was used to represent the dealer button and believe us when we say it’s pretty tacky. Dealer buttons are cheap and you can find several on our website for less than $3 that will suit your needs perfectly.

If you want to get really fancy, purchase a dealer button with a built-in tournament timer. This way, the amount of time remaining in each blind level is prominently displayed right on the table. Your best friend no longer needs to bring his iPhone to keep time. We’ve seen full-fledged tournament software with timers too, but if you’re not hosting a complicated multi-table home game, then a dealer button and timer combo should suffice.

Playing Cards and Cut Cards

If you’re going to hold a poker home game, playing cards are a must. You can probably go to Wal-Mart or another discount chain and purchase a really cheap set of playing cards. However, as soon as someone forgets to wipe their hands after eating hot wings, the deck will be all but ruined. Enter Nevada Jacks’ plastic playing cards, which are high quality, durable cards that slide easily across any surface. Plastic playing cards can absorb a considerable amount of wear and tear, so we’d suggest investing in them even though they’re a bit pricier.

You’ll also need a cut card. You’ve seen these in casinos, so having one at your home game is a must. The dealer shuffles the cards and then cuts them using this handy tool. Then, the dealer will place the cut card on the bottom of the deck to prevent any accidental exposure. Cut cards come in a variety of colors; order the one that matches your card backs.

Cup Holders and Chip Trays

If you have a professional grade table, then protect it by purchasing cup holders for your guests. Cup holders slide under the upper rung of the table and are big enough to hold anything from a bottle of beer to a Slurpee. We sell cup holders in pairs and they’ll prevent your high-end poker table from being doused in liquid when someone inevitably spills. These are the same cup holders that you’ve come to know and love in casinos.

If players are moving around during the game, you can prevent chips from spilling everywhere by purchasing plastic trays. Each tray typically holds 100 chips and is comprised of five rows for 20 chips each. Chip trays are lightweight and will make it pain-free for you to host a large-scale tournament. Prior to your tournament, load each player’s starting stack into the trays and pass them out. Then, every participant will have one.

Cases and Plaques

You’ve spent a considerable amount of money on poker chips, so why not protect them? Sturdy cases made of heavy-duty aluminum and premium wood are strongly recommended. Using them will ensure that your purchase lasts a lifetime. These might sound expensive, but they’re really not. For $30 to $60, you can guarantee that your chips will last by protecting them when they’re not in use. Plus, many of the cases we sell also include playing cards and dealer buttons; we’ve already seen how important those are.

If you want to be really unique, you can purchase poker plaques that are normally reserved for high-stakes games in exclusive European casinos. Now, you can bring them to your home game and save them for the “big money” in your tournament or cash game.
